Approach
Our Process
Not every financial adviser is going to understand the challenges you face as residents of Hawai’i. Your cost of living is significantly higher than most, but your industries pay the same rates.
You must be financially smart to enjoy your life today and in the future. That’s where Kristi comes in.
Kristi understands that her clients are as unique and diverse as Hawai’i, so instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, she takes her holistically crafted process and tailors it to their needs and goals. By using a comprehensive financial planning process, she helps clients understand their current financial situation, which benefits they have, and works with them to implement financial plans, ultimately helping them reach their financial goals.

Background
Kristi’s holistic approach to financial advising enables her to work with clients from all different stages of life, but she is passionate about working with those who call Hawai’i their home. She is dedicated to helping individuals and families with their specific planning needs, while navigating the challenges and opportunities we all face living here.
After graduating from Castle High School and the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, Kristi received advanced financial training and her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation from The American College of Financial Services in Bryn Mawr, PA. Today, she is one of fewer than 300 CFP® professionals in Hawai’i and one of only five Financial Advisers in Hawai’i through Eagle Strategies LLC, a Registered Investment Adviser and subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company.*
In addition to her Hawai’i life insurance and health insurance licenses, Kristi has earned FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, and 66 licenses. This combination of licenses enables her to provide a comprehensive approach to financial planning, retirement planning, estate planning, college funding, investments, and more.
Kristi and her family currently live in Honolulu. When away from the office, she loves to spend as much time as she can with her husband and son, taking advantage of all Hawai’i has to offer, including the beaches, hiking, and enjoying all of Hawai’i's ono food.

Kristi is committed to advocating for her clients and industry. She has served as New York Life's Political Involvement Leader, is an active member of the YAT (Young Advisory Team), and for years, played an integral part of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) before taking a step back from her board member position. As a current member of the Rotary Club of West Honolulu she is actively learning how to create change in her community and the world.
One of the specific ways Kristi is changing her community is by helping the youth of Hawai’i, a cause she is extremely passionate about. Not only does she lend her time to educate Campbell High School’s students about the financial industry and participate as a judge for the New York Life Scholastic Awards, sponsored by the New York Life Foundation, but she is also a dedicated advocate for the Kids Hurt Too Hawai’i organization. This organization provides support and mentoring for “orphans, foster children, and children separated from one or both parents due to divorce, incarceration or other causes.” As one of the co-founders of the Kids Hurt Too Keiki Mini Golf Tournament and recipient of the New York Life Foundation Community Impact Grant, Kristi was able to raise a total of $40,000 for the non-profit organization.

401(k) and IRA
Rollovers
When you leave a job or retire, you have a decision to make regarding your 401(k) money. While leaving those assets in the former employer's plan is an option, a rollover can also be a consideration. Working with your tax advisor, Kristi can help determine the right course of action for you. She will layout the advantages and disadvantages of your options while accounting for your specific needs, retirement plans, desired investment options, applicable fees, withdrawal options, required minimum distributions and tax treatment of applicable options.
