Our Process

Not every financial adviser is going to understand the challenges you face as residents of Hawai’i. Your cost of living is significantly higher than most, but your industries pay the same rates.

You must be financially smart to enjoy your life today and in the future. That’s where Kristi comes in.

Kristi understands that her clients are as unique and diverse as Hawai’i, so instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, she takes her holistically crafted process and tailors it to their needs and goals. By using a comprehensive financial planning process, she helps clients understand their current financial situation, which benefits they have, and works with them to implement financial plans, ultimately helping them reach their financial goals.

Kristi is committed to advocating for her clients and industry. She has served as New York Life's Political Involvement Leader, is an active member of the YAT (Young Advisory Team), and for years, played an integral part of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) before taking a step back from her board member position. As a former member of the Rotary Club of West Honolulu, Kristi also spent years learning how to create change on a local and global scale. A skill she continues to practice to this day.

Wealth Management

Through Eagle Strategies LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company, Kristi works with her clients to design and implement a variety of wealth accumulation and management plans. Investment programs range from separately managed portfolios of stocks and bonds to mutual funds, and access to third-party wealth management programs. Her holistic process helps ensure that management of investment assets aligns with your goals, risk tolerance and time horizon. With continual plan monitoring, she can also help you adjust your plan as your needs and life evolve.

Financial Planning

Through Eagle Strategies LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company, Kristi provides personalized financial planning to her clients, considering their income, risk tolerance, values, and family. Kristi works with each client to identify and prioritize their goals, explore options, establish effective strategies, construct and execute a plan, assess the performance of the plan, and make adjustments as needed.

Estate Planning

A well-engineered estate conservation plan can help minimize tax liability and ensure that loved ones are protected. Kristi works with you and your advisors to assess the impact of state and federal taxes on your estate and suggest strategies to help minimize those taxes while meeting your family’s needs.

Kristi does not provide tax advice. Please consult with your own advisors for tax advice.

Asset Protection

There are numerous financial strategies and retirement income strategies that can help you accumulate assets for the future, protect your business and personal assets from liabilities, and safeguard asset transfers to your children and grandchildren. Kristi can help you figure out what the right course of action is for your specific situation and objectives.

Disability and
Extended Care Needs

To execute a sound retirement strategy, asset and income protection are a must. Designing a plan that encompasses managing costs for extended periods of care and disability insurance help create the necessary balance in a portfolio to ensure stability and asset protection.

Products available through one or more carriers not affiliated with New York Life Insurance Company, are dependent on carrier authorization and product availability in your state or locality.

401(k) and IRA

When you leave a job or retire, you have a decision to make regarding your 401(k) money. While leaving those assets in the former employer's plan is an option, a rollover can also be a consideration. Working with your tax advisor, Kristi can help determine the right course of action for you. She will layout the advantages and disadvantages of your options while accounting for your specific needs, retirement plans, desired investment options, applicable fees, withdrawal options, required minimum distributions and tax treatment of applicable options.

Neither New York Life Insurance Company nor its agents offer tax advice. When considering rolling over the proceeds from your retirement plan to another tax-qualified vehicle, note that you have options, including leaving the funds in your existing plan or rolling it over to a new employer's plan. Depending on the option you select, there may be fees, expenses, and taxes upon withdrawal. Please consult a tax advisor before withdrawing funds.
